Concept

Mellinckrodt German Opportunities is the only stock mutual fund that is authorized for public distribution in Luxemburg, Germany, and Austria, with cash available daily and equal investment in stocks from Germany and Switzerland with private equity criteria.

Initiators

Mellinckrodt’s investment process is based on the background of its initiators which is unique for a public stock fund.

The initiators – in contrast to many other fund managers – aren’t trained bankers in the field of securities trading, stock analysis, or sales.

With a very longstanding, comprehensive experience in the private equity business, they have both assisted with and single-handedly performed numerous corporate acquisitions und sales in the past 25 years as well as a number of initial public offerings (IPOs) in Germany and Switzerland. A key aspect of our business has been the focus on mid- and long-term strategic business development.

”We are substantially invested in the fund. In the past 25 years, we have assisted with and single-handedly performed numerous corporate acquisitions and sales as well as a number of initial public offerings (IPOs) in Germany and Switzerland. We met during the transaction WMF over ten years ago. Our longstanding, successful collaboration brought about the idea to start the Mellinckrodt fund.”

History

The investment strategy was implemented between 2010 and 2013 with the Mellinckrodt 1 SICAV. It was, however, only accessible to professional investors.

Due to the changed capital market regulations the decision was made to change the legal structure.

Since 2013, Mellinckrodt under the umbrella of Mellinckrodt 2 SICAV is acquirable for all investors from Luxembourg and Germany as a regular UCITS fund. Since the same year, the fund has also been authorized for public distribution in Austria.
